Omra offered a cavalier and a hug to Ba T’hami, Memory of the living of the Tabourida
On the sidelines of the Moulay Abdellah Amghar Moussem, Qasr Al Helou in the Sidi Bouzid resort recently hosted a special event organized by Filat Distribution for Al Abtal Company. The event brought together a number of allam (standard-bearers) and leaders of the participating Tbourida troupes, featuring a series of awards and honorary initiatives in a festive atmosphere celebrating the participants and the various elements of the popular heritage associated with the Moussem. One of the highlights of the event was a special draw offering participants the opportunity to perform **Umrah in the Holy Lands**. Around 160 standard-bearers and troupe leaders taking part in the Moulay Abdellah Amghar Moussem participated in the draw. **Ayoub El Khadri**, a standard-bearer from the commune of Sidi Abed, was selected as the winner and awarded the Umrah journey. The initiative carried a strong humanitarian and spiritual dimension, reflecting the spirit of appreciation and recognition shown toward the Moussem’s participants. The event also paid tribute to the family of the late **Ba Tehami**, one of the well-known figures closely associated with Tbourida and the atmosphere of the traditional equestrian arena. During his lifetime, Ba Tehami was among those who contributed spontaneously to the spectacle, bringing joy and excitement to Tbourida performances through his natural charisma, interaction with spectators and ability to enrich the festive atmosphere inside the arena. As part of this tribute, several gifts and awards were presented to the late Ba Tehami’s family. These included a **5,000 MAD cash voucher from Filat Distribution**, another **5,000 MAD cash voucher from the Provincial Tbourida Union**, as well as a **mattress presented by Al Abtal Company**, in recognition of his contribution and the special place he held within the world of Tbourida entertainment. Falconry was also honored during the event, with **Filat Distribution** presenting a cash voucher in recognition of this deeply rooted traditional practice. Falconry represents an important component of Morocco’s cultural heritage and remains an integral part of the Moussem’s diverse celebrations. These initiatives form part of a broader effort to recognize the various participants and contributors to the Moulay Abdellah Amghar Moussem, an event that embodies the continuity of Morocco’s cultural and equestrian heritage. The Moussem also provides a space for gathering, exchange and the celebration of values such as generosity and solidarity, while honoring the men and women who have contributed to preserving and passing this heritage on to future generations. The initiative ultimately brought together **recognition, joy and a spirit of participation** in a festive atmosphere that reflected the special status of the Moulay Abdellah Amghar Moussem—a gathering where Tbourida, horsemanship and popular heritage come together, and where generations unite around a deeply rooted cultural memory.
