Official press conference statement unveiling the 2026 Moussem Moulay Abdellah Amghar program

The organizers of the Moussem Moulay Abdellah Amghar announced, during a press conference held on Tuesday, that the 2026 edition will take place from August 7 to 14. This edition is part of a vision to elevate the annual event into a major national and international gathering, combining the preservation of authentic cultural heritage, improved organization and stronger openness to the international sphere. In this context, Moulay Mehdi Fatmi, president of the Moulay Abdellah commune, stated that the Moussem is experiencing continuous momentum that reflects its growing status nationally and internationally. He noted that twelve new sorbas have expressed their wish to participate in this year's edition, which shows the increasing interest in this long-standing heritage event. Mr. Fatmi explained that the commune has carried out a series of investments aimed at upgrading infrastructure, improving the water and electricity networks, enhancing reception conditions for riders and visitors, and strengthening the safety and security system. He highlighted that the commune's contribution, amounting to 36 million dirhams, helped implement these projects and provide better organizational conditions. The commune president also announced the adoption of a new visual identity for the Moussem, the redesign of its organizational concept, improved movement across the event spaces and the preparation of a varied artistic, cultural and heritage program, which should make the 2026 edition one of the most prominent in the history of the Moussem. For his part, Abdeljabbar Belharsha, director of FILAT, the company organizing the Moussem, confirmed that all technical, artistic and logistical teams are mobilized to ensure well-managed organization and a complete visitor experience. He added that the cultural program will celebrate authentic Moroccan heritage while also opening up to contemporary artistic expressions. Said Ghaith, president of the provincial union for the art of Tbourida, announced significant improvements to the organization of Tbourida performances. He explained that 140 sorbas will take part in competitions held on two tracks, under conditions that meet safety and organizational requirements, thanks to reinforced emergency services and improved facilities dedicated to riders. During the conference, the organizers revealed the main new features of this edition, including improved site entrances and smoother traffic flow, expanded reception areas, stronger sustainable infrastructure, increased media presence nationally and internationally, and the launch of new digital services designed to make it easier for visitors to access the various facilities and services. The organizers explained that the communication strategy for this edition is based on an integrated approach using digital technologies, real-time information and stronger media support, in order to broaden the Moussem's reach, improve the quality of services offered to visitors and reinforce its position as one of the Kingdom's largest cultural and heritage events. The organizers expect the 2026 edition to achieve record figures, welcoming nearly 7 million visitors, setting up around 35,000 tents, and bringing together 2,300 horses and 140 sorbas, confirming the status of Moussem Moulay Abdellah Amghar as one of Morocco's largest cultural, equestrian and popular events.
